HIPAA Privacy Policy

It is the policy of Boomers Medical Gear that all information concerning patient service or care shall be treated confidentially. The information may include verbal, telephone, cell phone, written, electronic and computerized information. Each patient will receive at start of service a HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices, which describes how we may use and disclose Protected Health Information (PHI). Protected Health Information (PHI) includes Electronic Protected Health Information (EPHI). PHI is information about the patient including demographic information that may identify the patient and that relates to the patient past, present or future physical or mental health or condition and related healthcare services. PHI may be used and disclosed by our organization, our office staff, and others outside of our office that are involved in the patient service/care and treatment for the purpose of providing healthcare services to the patient, to pay the patient’s healthcare bills, to support the operation of the organization, and any other use required by law.
